On Tuesday members took part in the first of this sessions Projected Digital Image competitions.
This was judged by Chris Bonnington DPAGB a member at Carluke Camera Club who has been a regular visitor to Lanark giving presentations and judging competitions. As always Chris gave an interesting and constructive critique on all 71 entries offering advice where he thought improvements could be made.
The winner was Rosemary Leishman with 'Wee Ducklings' an excellent picture of two very young ducklings taken at the waters edge on a loch,
Second place was 'Book Worm' a monochrome picture of a young girl sitting on a street bench reading a book and taken by George Lightbody.
Two members shared third place, Linda Burman with an interior shot entitled 'Going up and Down' and Steve Gauld who had two images 'Slight Delay to the Ferry Services' an image of a wrecked boat, and 'Which Way to the Nuts' an excellent image of a Red Squirrel looking for food.
Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all 18 members who entered and particulary to new members Keith Sharkey and Chris Knight entering their first competition and receiving fair comment from the judge.
Next Tuesday Will Peat will give advice on Camera handling.
