On Tuesday we heard and viewed a very interesting presentation from Donald MacDonald who gave his assessment of the results of the Annual 4 Way Battle between ourselves, Carluke, Hamilton and Motherwell. We were well beaten by Carluke who scored 185 points compared to ourselves who scored 166 points a difference of 19 points over 10 pictures. We did however score 3 more points than Motherwell this year but were 6 points behind Hamilton. The main point raised in Donald's assessment was that we perhaps had to many landscape prints and not a better spread of the different photographic genres available to us.
Thanks Donald and we have food for thought for our next external competitions.
The remainder of the evening was spent selecting prints that are possible entries in the SPF Portfolio later this session and then viewing a tutorial video on 'long exposure' photography.
Next week 'Lucky Dip' is the theme showing your images on the subject you were lucky enough to draw earlier if the session. Should be interesting.
